Paradox Of The Lonely

Don’t look
     (I won’t let you see)
Don’t speak
     (There’s no one here)
Don’t touch
     (It frightens me)

Don’t leave
    (I need you)

Yo Zeigeist,

This is a good description of the lonely.

I like the poem both visually and orally, and the poet has succeeded in establishing the paradox in a profound and very sad way. Very effective artistry and craftsman Zeigeist.

Thank you all for posting your kind replies about this poem. "lonely" what a terrible word huh. There are many different reasons for one to be lonely, but when its mostly self induced, its really sad.

It is sad how people lock themselves up hoping that a person with the key will come along.  But in fear they turn that person away.  A good description of the lonely.
