               brief meteor

most might deem a life misspent…
chasing formless shadows
in the moonlit evening wind
and ethereal phantoms in
the boundless mountain mists
along ever tenuous pathways of
   the breaking dawn,
or following fading footsteps
   of the setting sun,
seeking only with the light of
   gentlest compassion
some 'true nature' of this world,
forever lost to a deep-time dream…
brief meteor in the endless void.

Bruce,

This is a description of all life forms, even trees.

No life is never misspent, I believe, though it is indeed like a brief meteor (this awareness comes when we reach a certain age). The meaning may elude us most of the time, but we are all researchers of the truth and you have a quality of seeing and interpreting things in a profoundly touching way.

Wonderful expressions, dear Bruce!

Love,
Margherita

Some of those brief meteors create such beauty and joy that it lives on long after they are gone. Take this poem for example...

I have noticed that the moon and the stars have been especially bright of late. I'm not sure if those stars are twinkling or winking, but I do like to believe.

*hearthugs* Bruce.
