Trust Women!
(Roe v. Wade, 37th)

Women have been our backbone
Ever since the dawn of Man
Without them there’s no meaning
To that Heavenly plan.

Though Man has tried to stifle them
And not listen to their voice
Finally laws have come to pass
That give, Women, their choice.

Some people still won’t recognize
That freedom, is for everyone
We’d be back to the old ways
If, their backward will, was done.

In some countries, they are slaves
And like livestock, sold and bought
Jailed, beaten, even murdered
For having, independent thought.

Our Nation claims to be better
(Though not long, since they could vote)
Equal to a Man, in many ways
But not, in all, we should note.

Seems when they finally get a Right
Some people, want to take it back
Like now, when Roe v. Wade
Comes under their radical attack.

The Right, to control their bodies
Is one, they want to take away
To force their will on everyone
Surely not, the American way!

There have even been some murders
Of those who, uphold that Right and Law
While claiming, “the right to life”
What an ignorant, mental flaw!

We should trust all those Women
And respect, their Right to Choice
Not let the few, silence them
Take away that Right, their Voice.

I had to google that Roe v. Wade to better understand what you write about here.

Thank you for defending the women's right to decide in these delicate questions, with this powerful and well written piece of poetry.

Indeed it is a question of trust.

Love,
Margherita

Being a Catholic I am against abortion for religious reasons but as a citizen I believe that we can not force our own personal religious views onto others.  I also believe that women have the right to decide whether or not to continue with a pregnancy in its early stages. ---- This piece took courage to submit.

Interesting...Whenever abortion is mentioned and a womans rights, I have to think of the rights or the fate of the child...If a woman could choose to have a child or an abortion, why would she choose an abortion...hopefully for the right reasons, and considering those right reasons, is there a right reason?.
Thinking from the childs perspective...the child that can only hope the choice will be made in his favor...just some thoughts...James

Mary to Joseph..I am pregnant

Joseph to Mary..but what will our neighbors say

Mary to Joseph..I think I will abort it

Joseph to Mary..It is your body Mary and you have the right to choose.
