I woke up tired and still dreaming
rubbed the sandy grains of darkness from my eyes
mouth still sticky with the taste of nyquil.

Six light bulbs in my bathroom
too bright for these eyes
I hope the hot water works
my back is sore, and that would be nice.

Eggs and buttered toast
black coffee for the drive
Today will surely be a good day.

Nyquil makes me speed.  I hate it.  I like your poem though - and I hate to wake up with lights in my eyes.  I am more of a pull the covers over my head and try to get just fifteen more minutes kind of morning person.  Yep, that's me.

Yo Lucky Viking_metal,

With a breakfast like that, it's got to be a good day.

viking_metal - love those eggs, buttered toast, and coffee. Meet me at the gas station and we'll head on down to the lake and grab a few trout...

You know, I've always wanted to go trout fishing. I fish for catfish, smallmouth, largemouth, muskie, northerns, walleye, and crappie up here in the north. Tarpon, ladyfish, jack crevalle, grouper, and spanish mackerel in the gulf when we visit the folks there.

Never done trout or salmon.

HALIBUT LOOKS LIKE SO MUCH FUN! :O

I went salmon fishing once, but the great lakes aren't quite like Alaska for such things...
