Dearest Darling Daring Ruth:
It does appear that Moody Blues
might be the path we walk upon--
to meet--and we have tried so long...

Right now? I'm listening to songs!

I'll tell you hints, I have been there.
Park in the garage and wear
walking shoes...and no, not Keds--
you'll stare at painted toes and dread

the red glare of those tainted paws
(all per-klempt in perfect heels...)

And don't do drugs--I know you don't!
But I tell ya, carpet won't
help you walk that long long way
and you will feel soooooo good and smart

until the carpet smacks y'face:
er...they think that is good taste.

The whirling twirling thingmajiggs--
bells and whistles make ya wish
you had a token after all...
YOU? Be strong m'friend, stand tall.

You will need your patient knees...
(I swear to you that rug? has needs...)

it will slap you in the face
and you will be forever changed--
(loving beige, the sins forgave...)

Omg, it's true.

Prepare yourself for the assault
of the Oz miraculous--
doors that were not even there
and gentlemen with gloves for ..YOU!!!

You'll walk a noisy corridor,
and poise will hover and haunt you--
whirling whistles, beams of light
that's when you should take a right.

Someone will be standing there.
They will know you by your stare:
you, m'deer, caught in headlights--
they will check your ticket--nice!

They will point you to the doors-
and there will be machines--IGNORE
them, all their damned ringings:
Remain on point; you're here to sing.

The Ladies' Room is to the left--
and use that hook--beware of theft.
Do not, do not, forsake your purse,
for there are people who are cursed

and think yer coins are free.

I don't spend much time in there.
I'll be the one gasping for air--
with earplugs in her ears and there
you'll find me standing, nonchalant

like a cat that has been caught

in a bad-ass thunderstorm...

and yanno? We call this FUN.

I hope to see ya there!

You darling! *S*

The machines may beckon and whisper promises they don't intend to keep... but only a sick kitty could keep me from marching steadily towards the homing beacon that is Justin's voice. *S* And yes... I'll sing because every word and note has been in my heart forever... but hopefully, no one will hear that... we're all there to hear THEM. *S*

And if all that includes the chance to meet a lady I love? *S* I won't need the car for the trip home... I'll be soaring. *S*

I wish I could have bought every ticket in the house for each and every one of ya'll.

With our Ruthie gal, it's just a happy coincidence!

Weird. Yanno? If I hadn't written that other poem? We would not have known. We might have attended the show, perhaps even stared at each others ankles in the ladie's room, and just gone on home without ever saying hello.

This makes me soooooo happy.

ummmmm... K? LOL If we could buy out the place, I'd get a front row seat, right? LOL A little right of center so I could flirt with John and drool over Justin??? Right?  Even though that would mean everyone would have to stand in order to see because I couldn't stay sitting? LOL

Happy coincidence... oh, yes. *G* You live in Louisiana and I live in Texas and we're talking Mississippi in March... one more reason why I'll hurt anyone who ever tries to hush your pen. *G*

I do indeed have great fortune to have such great friends.

I hope I didn't sound like I'm not looking forward to it...I actually despise casinoes, but now I have a reason to go--you do KNOW I was gonna try to get out of it until I learned you'd be there.

sigh..casinoes, it's just sensory overload for me. All those lights and bells.

I've only been to one other show there, and I gotta tell ya, the place was designed acoustically perfect. (They have a bent-tray ceiling, and the only way to mess up the sound there is for some dumbass soundman to try to improve it.)

March...I was wondering when it was...

laughing

Ever along for the ride, am I? *grinnin' wide"

Here's the conversation in our house:

"When are y'gonna start getting ready?"

"For what?"

"For WHAT? I've had the tickets for four expletive months!!!"

"Omg...is it today already?"

I love you.
