lethargy
steals through me
the siren call of sleep
sweet music in my ears
instrument not of fatigue
but of desire
to dream again

surrender
to somnolence
is skip of subconscience
in gleeful anticipation
your touch awaits
in just another
breath

Enjoy your nap, Suthern One! Sweet dreams! ~ and may your dreams be manifested into reality!

Hmmm, I now have this irresistible urge to have a nap myself! lol

Dear Ruth, how I can relate!! That desire for dream revelations and enchantments... oh yes. But though I try to have a nap, more often than not sleep eludes me and thus the dreams too ... ok there are the daydreams that can be nice too!

Wonderfully expressed!

Love,
Margherita

EA: May God look kindly upon your wishes for me! *S* Thank you so much! *S*

PS: But they're frowned upon at work. LOL Thank you very much! *S*

Edder: Things forever out of reach for waking hours are given freely in dreams... getting some rest is just icing on the cake. *S* Thank you, dear friend... so very much! *S*

Margherita: Daydreams are very nice indeed! *S* And if they're interrupted, we can pick them up again later... unlike the wisps that melt away when we wake. *S* Thank you! *S*

Yo Ruth,

Naps are nice.  I'm glad I can take them since I've retired.

Ruth,

I love a good nap.  There's something so decadent about going to lie down.  I take a good book, read for a bit and then just fall into the sleep mode.  I love it.

Ahah!  A work escape and I bet around 3:00 p.m.?  Drink water unless of course you had a great dream and want it to go to the next sequence.

I have these naps, and some are so good I wish the nap had been longer.

Excellent work!
Vibrant descriptions bring the dream to the waking world.

My wife says I never listen... or something like that

Naps are a luxury I can't afford if I want to sleep at night...besides, I hate burning daylight for nothing.

Dreams now...another story...and I dream complete stories, beginning to end and sometimes in installments over several days...

I love dreams...can you tell...

...now remembering them, hmmmm.

They say when you're in love, you can't sleep because, being awake is finally better than your dreams.

Oh well, no wonder I like sleeping so much, yikes lol.

Beautiful Suthern as always.
I've so missed your words!

Happy ValenTimes my friend.

Ah Suthern,
one should never dream
alone
nor should dreams ever
have only a single dreamer in them.
Sweetness softly sits on your shoulders
like eavesdropping angels.

My touch will come at the next snore, can't breathe baby? And you can't sleep either because my snoring is like road equipment at full steam. Might as well try tho ya think?

Dear Ruth I really enjoyed your poem and where would we be without our dreams.

sometimes daydreams are the best, at least we don't have any nightmares during the day.

Well written--well done. love

A lovely poem. It's as if you've painted a picture of sleep. I can see it and feel it. Very sensual and beautifully written.
