Between the Lines

0 posted 2010-01-22 06:40 AM

One feels the need to fill the void
that sometimes rises within the soul.
It's there that words between the lines
bear fruit of friendships that take control

To comfort, aid, give hugs that warm.
A walk in words to weather each storm.

At times "the lack of" preys on minds,
forgetting the keys that unlock the deep.
Wandering thoughts that feelings bring
when mem'ries appear in early sleep.

Sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse.
But always knowing... it could be worse.

I absolutely love the lines:

At times "the lack of" preys on minds,
forgetting the keys that unlock the deep

as well as the whole poem, wonderfully done!

Maureen, if theres one highlight of all your poems together, it's that they all speak such truth and wisdom, even if we don't want to hear it, it's life.

Wonderful writing from the mind and poetic heart.

Thank you for stopping by.

I am hoping my "mind world " (as well as my health) is on the mend this day.

This is amazing and I enjoyed reading this.
Over and over, it brings new and different meaning to me on a deep, personal level, each time.
Thank you.
