I just heard on the news, for the first time in 61 years, the mysterious visitor did not visit Poe's grave on his birthday...
Reminded of a poem I wrote some years ago.

'Tis midnight's hour,
...as moonbeams rest,
Long past the sun's
...heat incandesced.

Not yet morn's dew,
...on graveyard lawn,
As angels sleep,
...no hint of dawn.

Evening's air,
...sans whispered breath,
Lays still the night,
...in hush of death.

Specter cometh,
...on noiseless feet,
Ebon cloaked,
...dark night's afreet.

Upon cold grave,
...lays roses three,
Cognac rare,
...bouquet's garni.

Dark silent grave,
...in Baltimore,
"Quoth the Raven,
...Nevermore."
