Our daughter called the other day,
Said Mom and Dad, what do you say,
We'll be gone for just a bit,
Will you come and babysit?

We said, “yes,”  how could we not?
Hannah is a perfect tot,
Cuter than a kid should be,
Adorable, her age is three.

She runs and jumps, gives me a hug,
My darling little lady bug,
“Papa, papa, play with me,”
As I bounce her on my knee.

An hour later I am beat,
But not my Hannah, oh so sweet,
Papa, Papa play with me,
Hannah runs and jumps with glee.

Two hours later, I collapse,
Hannah's bedtime, per chance, perhaps?
Papa, papa, no night-night,
Let's play dolly, okay, all right?

Three hours now have up and passed,
I fear my knees just will not last,
As with the girl I so adore,
We play horsey on the floor.

Where are you Will and Kimberly,
How can this child be only three?
The energizer bunny would fall behind,
When will Hannah, at last unwind?

Will and Kimberly, home at last,
Grandpa's bedtime long since passed,
“Thank so much, both Mom and Dad,
We hope that Hannah's not been too bad.”

Papa, papa, stay and play,
Please, please Papa, don't go away,
I'm sorry Hannah, but we must go,
But we'll be back, I promise though.

Will and Kim, it is all right,
To call on us, for any night,
For we know of no greater pleasure,
Than to play, with our precious treasure.

awwwwwwww...

Hannah--I've always loved the named.

And you just brought a precious memory back to me--my sister and I used to run to meet my dad at the bus stop, after he'd worked the graveyard shift. We would clasp ourselves around his weary legs, and he would walk the block home like that, stoic but smiling, carrying us all the way like that.

Thank you Tim. I had forgotten all about that. But? These are the good old days.

She's adorable...I can just picture
her papa on all fours playing horsey!

This is charming, and you will
frame it for her, yes?

Boy can I sympathize - been there I tell you and it doesn't go away either as they get older, so don't sell that treadmill yet Tim.
