If cars could float or fly,
I'd traverse the seas
brave the swells
to wash up, a pathetic mess,
on the shores of your doorstep.

If cars could float or fly,
I'd fly through clouds
just to get to you
open the doors
to let the rainwater pour out.

if cars could float or fly
I'd drive as fast as I could
just to get to you
and wash up, a pathetic mess
in your arms.

I was picnicing with a friend one Sunday and watched a car drive right into the Willamette River and the float down it with four passengers.  It was a yellow convertible amphibian. What an uncanny feeling watching it!

It's too early here in the morning to get a sensible comment out of me, but I smiled at this poem, because one way or another, love floats the boat or gives us wings.  So many crash landings...     ~KL

I live in Stillwater, Minnesota -- Which actually has the highest concentration of "boat cars" from back in the day still operating. So I see quite a few every summer, people drive them on the river onto the sand islands and party with the rest of us folks who have regular old boats.

Glad to have made you smile.

Fall in love early, fall in love often.

it always feels so genuine

Well, Paul, that's the good thing about planes and boats.  Ya know?  Romantic you may be (and I do agree with the ladies on that) - but logic.  The romantic side of you is clouding the logical side.  That's why you have friends like me to point out the obvious.

Okay, I am kidding - I love the poem.

Susan, thanks so very much. I'm fairly sure I do things the only way I know how.

Mysteria, I yam what I yam. Thanks so very much!

Aliboo, I appreciate the kind words. Maybe my boat can drive and my car can float.   Logic is for fools!
