Gray Christmas
Composed on 12-2609

I’m feeling so lonely right now.
Been stuck in here for, what, four days?
And who’s fault is that?
Silently complaining nobody writes me,
No one to talk with on Messenger,
Just to sit quietly with,
But who’s fault is that?
I keep the complaining to myself.
I don’t want to bug them, they’re busy.
I read but can’t concentrate on what I’m reading.
I keep checking my email, my Messenger,
And day after day there is no one there.
(But who’s fault is that)?
I go on Pip to glance at what is there,
being careful not to look at the names, well, just a few of them,
because doing so would make me feel upset.
I still can’t get on.
Even though going there upsets me,
Why do I go there, want to read? And yet don’t want to? …

But I tell myself that I am needed.
And that even though I have those mindless errands,
it’s another day.

Thank you for your response on my own poem. I'm glad you did because it made me look at your poem.

Believe it or not I've felt he same way you have, and theres no way out.

Good luck, beautifully captured.

I am sure that other people have had such feelings of a Grey Christmas.  This was written well and full of emotion.

Jaime,

It pains me that you don't have anyone there to help you, like Kacy - Midnitesun, was once able to help you in reading and responding. I'm one of those "if I could, I would be there" in a moment...but that's not within my realm just now, poet.

I know that your 2009 poem is not so far away from the 2010 posting. I never know if you get my responses to your inquiries on IM...but do know I try.

And at least you ARE back to posting here, now.

I can hear John Denver singing in your ear now....

quote:
If I had a day that I could give you,
I'd give to you the day just like today.
If I had a song that I could sing for you,
I'd sing a song to make you feel this way.
*

Jaime, this is for you!

*Excerpt, John Denver lyrics, "Sunshine"

Christmas can be hard when you feel alone.  Remember you have a piece of our hearts here at the Blue Buffet. We think of you when you're not here and we're always glad to see you when you drop in...

Dear Jaime,
it is sad indeed when no one is around to make us feel loved. But of course we also have to reach out. (Whose fault is it? ... you say).
Trust your ability to love and to be loved.
Very poignant work.

Love and joy.
Margherita
