A few days before
he was brutally attacked
by grown men,
an attack that would eventually
result in his death
at fourteen years of age,
Bones had begun to ponder
what his life was all about.

Bones had faith
that his life
would surly improve
as he grew older.

It was a dream common
to boys his age,
and position on
the social ladder.

In all innocence,
he had no inkling
of the horror
that was gaping
before him.

Though Bones knew about,
and was even familiar with
the evil of this world,
he never suspected,
he never dreamed
what would befall him.

Bobby

This is the Bones who makes me so sad.  This Bones didn't get a chance or a fair shake - and I wish he had.

Thanks dear Alison,

Yes, I agree.  It makes me sad too to think about Bones.  He was a good friend.

Thanks Bruce,

Yes, the story does repeat in reality too often.

A fourteen year old boy has gone missing in South Philadelphia just today.  His mother wants him back.

While I have been reading and viewing Bones as an individual character, this poem puts the saga in a new light.  For it seems that Bones is actually a composite character, which would account for slips in continuity.  I reckon that each piece has to be viewed separately instead of as a collective whole.

Yes, I think Bones is just one of the personalities here.

Bobby,  When I first started reading about Bones, I thought he was a dog, then I thought he was a little boy, then I figured he was you, Bobby, growing up.  Now I see that it is your clever way of telling about life and it's many forms.  Some times sad, some times silly, sometimes crazy. You have a wonderful way of telling lifes story as you see it. You have gleened a great deal from your experiance, thanks for sharing.

Love ya' Billie C.

Evil cares not for its victims
as Bones can atest.
It often take what it can,
But it always strives for the best.
