I have realized, I am,
a trader, so to speak.

(I guess)

Even as I type these words
I shrug as if I am guileless.

I've been lying to myself

My shadow smacks herself, and notes:
"That just might be a real nice move."

My shadow smacks herself, and notes,
nodding at the drama's twice
implications obvious
licking at the audience
hoping for some good stage drool...

tossing sticks
and handkerchiefs
tottering toward the cliffs

I have realized I am
a trader, so to speak.

(I guess)

Even as I type these words
I shrug as if I am guileless.

I've been lying to myself

My shadow smacks herself, and notes:
"That might not be a real smooth move."

My shadow smacks herself, and dotes
upon the clouds there in the sky
implications obvious
licking lust and compromise
hoping for some good stage drool...

Lacy-fringe-stitched
handkerchiefs
tottering the cliffs
am I

the fool,

with one foot up
in swing
(to back)
the other
grips tenacity
clinging
in the soft doe skin:
My toes are cleft
remembering

everything I've ever been

and nothing

after all.

Tell your shadow to stop slapping herself.

This is brilliant and the depths of your mind are profound.

I truly loved the ending lines.

Thanks J--and I'm just playing around with format again. It keeps me off the streets.

Thank you, too, Dixie. Congrats on the books, and I hope things are working out for the best for you.

Love and gratitude to all.

And as for me and my shadow boxing? Well, y'should see the other guy...

...ah, the rise and fall of after all...

wisdom and hindsight?

Karen, I've no doubt that under your skin, there is always a marvelous Being to fend off the faints of a shadow boxer.

Loved this one, too! ~K

You've got a good ear, Mysterian! I'm considering picking that guitar up again...it'll give my son something more to laugh about.

But I figure I've always written lyrics anyhow, so what the heck?

My son can laugh at me all he wants--if I want to make him cry I'll take back my Takemine...and SING.

Thanks for reading. And fertilizing my strawberries.

Much love and appreciation to the Klassy Lassy as well.
