My Little Girl

Where is that little girl I used to know?
The one that cried,
and gurgled,
and laughed,
and fell asleep on my shoulder.
Where is that little girl
with the loose front teeth,
the kindergarten drawings,
the hugs,
and the kisses,
so spontaneously given?
Where is that little girl
that was so excited when she turned thirteen,
that talked incessantly on the telephone,
that almost died
when the high school quarterback
asked her to the senior prom?
Where is that little girl,
grown up now,
with children of her own?
The one that just yesterday
used to cry,
and gurgle,
and fall asleep on my shoulder.
Where is she…?
That little girl.
My daughter.

She's in your heart, Jimmy.  I do really love this poem.  Makes me think of my dad and ... wish.

Happy New Year.

That is a very heart touching poem Jimmy
a real pleasure to read. Life goes by so

quickly when they are growing up but at least we always have the memories.

A most enjoyable post my friend.

mine just got married and moved to California into a military life. How I miss those days when I could protect her and keep her close.

My eyes are filling with water now...but a smile comes on my face as well.

Good write here my friend. You always touch softly.

This beautiful heart touching write just started a waterfall of tears ...

It happens when we reminisce so tenderly.

Yo Jwesley,

This is very nice.  My daughters can beat-up your daughters.

Just kidding.
