quote:
As

Something holds the maid for ransom
Something long-gone, still has weight.

And parades outside her window-gate;

Where in her vulgar garden

* Priests in black gowns (are) were walking their rounds,
And binding with briars (her) my  joys and desires.

*William Blake--(1757-1827)--from "The Garden of Love"

~left me in stunned silence~*~*ice...
Lord, but you took my breath away~~~~

I forgot to mention how much I liked the poem...I guess I just floated away on a ship of inspiration..picked up William Blake, and took him along for a short ride..:-)
