Men and women who have a higher aim,
Which are contrary to their volition;
Probing Id for Om, they are not to blame.

They are only trying to find themselves

Straight conventional thinking is abhorred,
Wandering through life as one with nature,
Staying in one place until they are bored,
They say their prayers for the pitiful poor.

Love and peace evermore, name of their game.

That's their mantra; they sing it loud and clear,
Purge societal ills which scourge our land.
They don't fit in and they act very (D)eer,
Froth and spit, demanding certain words banned.

If it's not what we want, get rid of it.

Blood of gypsies, bucking the rule of law,
Laws are old, out of place for their new world.
The old ways they say are known to be flawed,
A new world is here; the old harshly hurled.

The establishment is dead and buried.

They may be at fault how they think, but hell,
By the time its known we will all be dead.
You lying white men get a dungeon cell,
While the new-age gypsies get all the bread.

Open all the jails, give the world its due.

In the fraudulent sixties we had truth,
Hey dude, let it all hang out, what we said
Burned down our cities we were just uncouth
Tune in, drop out, hey!  Better red than dead

Have you ever heard that spoken before

They are us today in moderation,
They search for that spark so they can get down.
Trying to cause strife within the nation,
Their antics are more like Bozo the clown.

Once they were vibrant, now they are confused.

They're trying to find themselves is their ruse,
Forever trying to lower the bar.
If they can ever really light that fuse,
We'll have a sheik or a modern-day czar.

World order is changing as we do speak.

Oh yeah, JL, I am paying attention. Writing poems about it every so often is all I can do to combat it. I fear for America.

Thanks, buddy, for being here.

Ah, EmmaRose, instead of "in this brave new world," I think it is more like in this coward new world.

Thanks you for digging this one back up.
