just once I'd like to ride
the tail of a shooting star
imagine the ride I'd have
traveling from Jupiter to Mars
I'd tip my hat to the sleepy moon
blow a kiss to the milky way
hover over mercury
beckon her to play
I imagine the indigo sky
to be filled with celestial showers
and all the while
the sleepy moon
whiles away the hours

Oh well, if we get tossed off in the Milky Way, we can go dancing there. A friend tells me he's saving one for me midst all the stardust. We should be able to catch another cosmic flight out!

I saw the full moon tonight, whiling away the hours, on the western horizon. This poem reminds me of that moon, but although I looked close, I didn't see the comet you were riding..and yet, by reading this poem...I know you were there.....:-)
