its time to don the mask
to hide the bluest blues
then the idiot questions
seem to form in your head
the blues are the blues
you know it could be worse
you are thinking too much
about tomorrow and after
wish you could lose feeling
of putting her on the spot
in your mind its her touch
conjured up in smiles wetly
a daily lucent occurrence
you feel you've dreamt aloud
reaching out for her grasping
moaning within your throat
your arms are much too short
your heart's foreskin is dull, the
eggs you sow of doubtful purity
is it real or full-fledged chimera
men like to care for things least real
fathers must die; pass into tomorrow
to bequeath realism to their sons
so you file in a one-man cortege
toward the path of your veriest love
even as your heart feels the cleave
of your see-through desires; banish
naysayers; sing a hosanna canticle
marching toward woman of earth
your woman, love of your life

Dangit...I knew I missed one.  /sigh

"you feel you've dreamt aloud"
This line is perfect - the poem surrounds it, it's awesome, and I like the whole of it - but this one line grabbed me.  So, so real and very true.

now that's an interesting observation...women too suffer this malady...worst thing one can do...man or woman...is to fall in love with someone's potential,...then there's that whole hero syndrome thing to conquer...

but that's neither here nor there~~loved the hosanna canticle...who could resist that?  Great stuff, Mr. Pat~ write-on.

Thank you, bel1e, the hero syndrome is a difficult challenge to be sure. Thank you for your gracious remarks about my poem.

"Marching toward woman of earth..."
March on and forward, she awaits, this woman of earth.
