Hand Held Out

. . . and there is sleep
troubled and sparce,
and day again, and light,
new eyes seeking yours,
question: who are you?
hiding behind veils
of your own making . . .
bleeding by choice,
frozen emotions,
your own choosing,
avoiding the warmth, hovering
around your soul.

The warmth,
the reality offered
by the hand held out . . .
to you.

Haunting and Poeish in my thinking is this one, j. Emotion rampant with the side-long glances of the desired, but aloof one.

Alison hit the bull's eye.
Your words are felt.
Enjoyed, my friend.

It's very hard to reach through to someone through that veil; regardless of their reasons for hiding behind it.  I felt this one, m'friend.
