Sanderlings

Where the surf overturns . . .
wet foot prints - running,
three toes all facing the same way -
. . . fiddler crabs roll up the sand.
sanderlings race salt's foamy edge,
and she stands there,
knee deep,
long, wet,
black dress
swirling in the churn -
part of,
came from . . .
is
the sea. . .

~~~~
Breeze captured the sun,
pushed it down,
    down - merged it with the sea
laid it beneath distant waves . . .
and she emerged in the dark
her face
glowing white,
like waves
touched by moonbeams
rushing up the sand
in the night -
sanderlings
rushing from her path.
Ah what a pristine write.  I can hear the surf and the gulls.
Enjoyed the journey.
Oh I do love the sea; next to the moon, 'tis one of my favorite things to include in poetry.  There's such a vastness and timeless beauty in this poem.  This is truly lovely...
Fantastic imagery, my friend. The woman? Great concept  keeping her visible, but distance.
I really loved this one... such beautiful and sound writing.  The last stanza was amazing to visualize and read.  Well done.
This mesmerizes in its beauty... you words are so vivid I'm not just reading, I'm THERE. *S*
