TODAY
27 December 2011

The jubilation of a new day
is earth-sweet on the tongue
like eagle-flight breath
above the mountain-tops
in a sky of Alaskan-blue
to the tinkling song
of a bracing, finger-trailed,
freshly-born stream.

Ah, Diana, I think you reached out and tapped me on the shoulder.  I was just heading for bed and decided to peek in here one more time.

You write beautiful like few here.  Love this.  Love you.

Oh, Alison!  I did!  I was hoping you would see your skies first!  Isn't that strange?
Thank you for your magical words.  They are much appreciated.

Love you too.

*sigh* thankyou so much for the beautiful picture you have painted in my mind.

It is! Ahhh, the perception of the divine beauty and the overwhelmingly precious gift of a new day! You expressed this with your usual fascinating poetic skills, dear Owl.

The picture you paint here is my favorite time of day. Having been eyewitness to the wonder of daybreak a thousand or more times. On purpose I might add.

This also reminds me of Cat Stevens..

"Morning has broken", only more sophisticated in its prosaic delivery.

In this poem, I can hear the Blackbird singing,
"Like the first bird"

Thank you, Ford.  You say the loveliest things!  I, too, love that song, and can hear it now clearly, especially the 2 lines you quoted, and am smiling as I hear them.

Thank you, Ruth!  I am so glad!

You and your kitty cats, Kate and Colin, did so much for me after each of Flicka, then Daisy, then Tigger went to Heaaven at their various times.
