Come Christmas Morn
by Linda L. Dowd

The air is crisp this winter’s night.
~ The skies an incandescent gray.
All is still in my home town.
~ For come the morn is Christmas day.

Feathered plumes of chimney smoke,
~ They curl and swirl in slow arise,
Looking like a Hallmark postcard,
~ Heaven’s hearth in realize.

Distant bells are ringing softly.
~ Memories flood from long ago.
When all was charmed ~ so pure and simple.
~ As Old Man River, life did flow.

Praise is sung thru’ Yuletide carols.
~ Around a warming pine log fire.
Merry moments to be cherished.
~ Of faith and hope thru’ song inspire.

The air is crisp this winter’s night.
~ The skies an incandescent gray.
All is still in my home town.
~ For come the morn is Christmas day.

Oh, I am sooooooooooooo happy to read you and to hear you, my beautiful Angelo Terrestre!

This is awesome and touches my heart ever so deeply, it is as if I was back home in Switzerland in my childhood. The same precious emotions we share.

Wonderful words to cherish.

You just stirred a smile that will linger within me for quite a while.

I love you.

Ditto Margherita. As I read this wonderful, rich with emotion, Christmas carol (that's how I think of it) my innocent childhood rose up and stayed with me until the poem was finished and I reread it. So many memories to ponder. So many instances of "trying to be good," for Santa doesn't like naughty little boys. Thanks, Linda, for the trip down memory lane.

What a beautiful poem, bringing Christmas beauty and tranquility, read in that exquisite Canadian accent, Linda!  Thank you.  Lovely to see you.  Beautiful watercolour of yours!  I remember it well.  Lovely to see it again too!

Holler girl,

I love the whole package - may I snag the picture.  I truly love it too.  May I snag you too while I am at it?

Love you so much - your poetry soothes me.

I think we should bookmark this to be played
at least once a month, and keep Christmas
with us, all year long.
