in the shadows

In long night's journey into time
mind wanders
roaring winds beat against cold dusty walls
reminding me worlds await return;
hiding in sedation these past centuries
I wander rooms and corridors
in tangled mansion of my soul
knowing
having turned my back on blood
deep in my central keep
sleeps endless yearning for its taste.

Very impressive poetic pondering on the unfathomableness of human nature.

Thank you, dear Charlie!

Excellent. That taste, for that blood seems to be common, but kept hidden. Sometimes because of ego.

I read this three times. Your wordplay is excellent and the last three lines is kickass.

The humanity that you write; it digs in every time I read your poems.  This is no exception, and trying to explain that in a silly reply give it absolutely no justice.

I agree with ice.  But will add that beyond ego, it is vanity.
Very deep write, excellent poetry, as always.

Enjoyed the read.
