. . . a man's intellect
his own thinking
can be manipulated by others
to annihilate him
the staggering terminal ability
of each man's individual internal darkness . . .
. . . the dark is there . . . always there
in each and every one of us
all we need to do is pick at its scab;
let it ooze . . .

Dear JP,
You said so much in this poem.
I could see it becoming a novel, a great novel.

"Pacific Heights," by Paul Harper is the novel which inspired this poem and the last two lines, Ms E.

Gotta wear a  heavy duty bandaid not to succumb to the forces of evil.
Hard hitting and scary for those that neglect to know the greater good

Sometimes even knowing the "greater good" is not enough to keep the gremlins away for the scab and the pus that bleeds from it.

Thank, EmmaRose, for checking "Manipulation" out and adding your voice to the poem.

Wow.  Off on a tangent?
I hope to never be manipulated like that.
