All this talk of reform at all level's a myth
for there is no incentive for change
Money talks, B.S. walks, and unfortunately
a fair shake's been priced out of our range

But don't fret, keep the faith as I'm sure you all know
Washington has our interest at heart
Taking most of the pay from the few left employed
with the middle supporting two parts

In the top echelon, from whose giddying heights
power flows in an endless supply
At the opposite end, with their arms outstretched wide
takers left with no reason to try

A political joke's the unfortunate truth
one need only to look to see why
in this greatest of lands those who make all the rules
are the finest that money can buy

When is enough, enough?
Civil war?
Police state?
Martial Law imposed?
Suspension of Habeas Corpus?
Suspension of, The Constitution and Declaration of Independence;
and Bill of Rights?

There will be a reset of the economy, capital, national borders, and personal rights coming soon to a theater near you.

Habeas Corpus
“”Latin for "you [shall] have the body," is the name of a legal action or writ by means of which detainees can seek relief from unlawful imprisonment. The Suspension Clause of the United States Constitution specifically included the English common law procedure in Article One, Section 9, clause 2, which demands that "The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it."””

Martial Law
The imposition of military rule by military authorities over designated regions on an emergency basis—(usually) only temporary—when the civilian government or civilian authorities fail to function effectively (e.g., maintain order and security, and provide essential services), when there are extensive riots and protests, or when the disobedience of the law becomes widespread. In most cases, military forces are deployed to quiet the crowds, to secure government buildings and key or sensitive locations, and to maintain order.

JL,
Thanks, but I'm afraid you may be missing the humor in this, gallows humor though it may be. The funny part is, we've known for years what the problem is, yet have only paid it lip service and allowed it to continue unabated. Woo hoo ! What a hoot!
I certainly didn't sign on to have my future traded by a bunch of crooks, but apparently I had no say in the matter ( and yes, I do vote ).I think I can understand the nebulous nature of the occupy Wall Street movement and other protests popping up on our "fair" planet. You can only feed a man just so much crap before he realizes what he's eating, and it doesn't leave a very good taste in his mouth either. Darn, I thought I got rid of that soapbox, lol.

Yeah, Mr.
Your humor was so deep I couldn't get there from the surface.  But I have the audacious propensity to pull out words from what others say and sermonize on them, or vent with them, my total frustration of the way some people are so darn uninformed - that it's not funny.  However, I did, and do, enjoy your humor, some venting must be done, on my part anyway, a balance to my verve.

Oh, there I go again...

Thanks #1

JL,
LOL, by all means feel free to pull words and vent all you want. The "pre-poetry" Dr. Moose was actually known on occasion to stand on a stump in his front yard and rant non stop for ten minutes straight ( timed, of course ) at passers by in a residential neighborhood. Not really wanting to be institutionalized, I started writing, and, fifteen or so years later find I've traded a stump for a virtual soapbox. Now that's funny, lol.

I have great admiration for stump-jumpers and soap-boxers bellowing their agitation.
As long as they don't poop on cop cars, and occupy my freedom causing the government to take undesirable action against the entire population.  That's all the excuse the powers that be need to remove hard fought for rights, and liberty.  Once gone, gone forever.

Thank you James, not my usual fare by any means, but the injustices being done to this country and its people by its leaders are inexcusable.
