would you just listen to tha stomp
my nurturing on a wing and a beat
strike up the band for all its worth
buncha harmonizing damn fools
jivin' with Leadbelly and Moody Blues
givin' it up for Timothy Leary
oh yes, the guru is dead, yes, yes
takin' a sip of sweet lucy, dribblin'
down my chin, or was that sweet
Libby, high sheriff's daughter, whoops
that'll droop it to a fair thee well
Charles and I had a hideout hid
told Libby she could join providin'
she gave us a peek at her whatsitlooklike
Libby smiled, grinned, then hee-hawed
said that'll cost you a quarter apiece
I had to run home beg for a quarter
Charles had one he got to look first

Well, in her defense, she was young, and we didn't know what to do but look and touch. Worth a quarter to us, and that was back in the day a quarter bought young guys like us nice things.

Thanks for reading my crazy poem and commenting, Nan.

Now that's too funny.  Tom Sawyer or Huck-Jerry, on the dark side.  LOL.
I can picture the scene.

Really happened, JL, except for the quarters . . . Thank you for stopping by and being naughty with me.
