Balladeer is for the birds
and he can charm them without words
On the wing and on a whim
With loving eyes they flock to him
Whisper nothings in his ear
Kiss his cheek and show their rear
Nibble gently on his lobes
while coloured lights are flashing strobes
they fly to him as if to play
with their bright feathers on display
and although one bird was mutton
still he wished for one more button
you know what I think would bring laughs
when Balladeer is for giraffes

A poet must leave traces of his passing not proof.

Welcome to the USA! Jealous of your time with Balladeer. Fun write.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Nice write!!

He thinks he’s the “Bird Man of Alcatraz Island"
Living the life in Florida and styling.
Parrots and sparrows and cockatiels too
That grin on his face, he looks happy and cool.

Happy is having a bird in the pocket.
Or a turkey in the oven?

what a funny guy.  Okay, he was always a funny guy, but my my.  And I agree, giraffes would be grand.

Nan I have a picture of a giraffe trying to kiss him... it may have had something to do with the lettuce leaf in his hand but I'm not telling anyone that.
