Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

Gotta head full of cotton
And m’heart’s heavy as lead
Dunno why - But, I am tired
Might be the cold
Could be the darkness
Blame it all on winter

Or it could be that damn
Under-cooked turkey
And the frozen pie
(short cut, you know)
That had to be baked
For over an hour (an hour!!!)

You know, cooking really ain’t
All it cracked up to be
Shoulda stopped with that
Thanksgiving meal at my friends
Who knew I would screw this up
And end up just so damn tired

So I am gonna put this to music
And whine myself to sleep

-

Alison, the whiney one

I think most people tend to feel a little down after a holiday. As for cooking, I try to figure out shortcuts and easier ways of doing things so that I'm not too exhausted to eat what I've cooked. I'm not getting any younger but there is something to be said for experience.

I hear you. When you've tried to put out a good meal and things go a bit haywire it makes you feel bad for days. But it isn't the end of the world, youll snap out of it.

DOn't need to be there cookin'
When you are that good-lookin'
Alaskan men are turkeys,
I surmise.

THis life is made for livin'
Don't fret about Thanksgivin'
There's more to life than fowls
And frozen pies.
