The inevitable ashes
while you cradle my feet
in vanishing yellows
as they dry into browns

you left me to stand
amid liberation
in the sting
of the afterchill
while you were windswept
on the cusp of November

as you journey
your fate and the
seasons do talley

I pray
you remember
I once hosted
your colors

Great closing in this sad story, oft repeated, about loves vagaries. I also especially liked the use of the season (November) and the spot-on description of the ashes of broken love in the beginning. THIS is an excellent poem.

And blood and wine were on his hands

Excellent compaction of thought. I feel a sense of loss, yet not without a hint of fondness when remembering the history--
Loss is the wrong word--as nothing is realy lost when one loses their virginity...and yet the scene is somber, according to the words.. a truly human poem...love it.

"I pray

Very nice.  The ending, heartwarming.
