Like raindrops on a Winter's Day
I hate it when I feel this way
My soul reaching out for a ray of Light
Yet my mind is as dark as night
Staring through the looking-glass
It feels like living in the past
I don't belong neither here nor there
While thoughts run rampant, everywhere
Who am I? I really don't know
Because I lost myself a long, long time ago
Believe me that's not the saddest part
I'm dead in reality, but living in my heart
Like with a seashell you hear the rushing sea
I'm nothing more then emotions rushing inside of me
Invisible to the living, not wanted by the dead
I live my life like a ghost instead
Not to be remembered, not to be seen
It's just like I have never been...

We are kinsmen in that our thoughts seem to run along the same stretch of lonesome highway. I have made a detour toward a brighter day lately, however. Hope you will be able to do the same . . .

Writing is a good way to release some of those troubling emotions. Hope you find a brighter way.

Depression, depersonalization, and especially 'de-realization' have been my lifelong 'dark-wolf' companions ... perhaps they are the "poet's curse"?!   The very best way to keep them at bay is by doing acts of kindness ... especially the random, anonymous ones ... and, by writing fine 'poetry' that wafts along the immortal plain (that is not always 'self-focused') by celebrating nature, human diversity, and the universal 'connectedness' of everyone and everything across all scales of observation of this grand-scintillating universe, and also the commonalities of human needs and experiences. You and your writing are very important to us all. ... Write on!

Observing without belonging, feeling meaningless... You capture this purgatory so well!
