WWI Canadian soldier Thomas Stewart
Died in Flander’s Field, Belgium, in 1916

Blowing In the Wind
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

In dismal gray of rainy day,
a poppy-pinned lapel,
Reminds us all of Flanders Fields,
where lie the brave that fell.

A time for us to honour,
all those who fought and died.
Their loss was mourned by families,
as their nation’s peoples cried.

A war is so destructive,
~ No side can truly win.
Tears fall down from heaven,
as flags blow in the wind.

“The time has come for Man to lay down
his arms, and pick up each other.”
~ Linda L. Dowd

Wonderful work, dear Linda Angelo Terrestre. Such a poignant reminder of the uselessness and horror that wars are, killing the youth of all sides and thus the future.
As exquisite as your poem is also your footnote! You are a lightworker of the highest order, dear beloved Poetess and Artist.

Love and Peace.

Love your poem, and the poem in the video..

Reminds me of this..a question every warrior has probably asked them selves..

"How many times must the cannon balls fly , before they're forever banned."
(Bob Dylan--"Blowin' in the wind"

I am a pacifist, but
have always honored the warriers, though not always the people that have put them in harms way, sometimes for untold, or hidden reasons.

A very nice tribute to the fallen. One thing you pointed out, which is very true, in war not one really wins. Sure there is a winner, but the casualties surmount the title winner many times.

What a beautiful tribute to those who have fallen... and those who will yet fall.

Wow, Linda.  This was truly magnificent.  I caught chills with the music and the reading of it.

Beautifully done.

Roneice ~

By golly, you managed to send that big hug all the way over to Canada ~ I could feel it! ~ and a mighty fine hug it be!
I'm sending one to you as well!.........There! Could you feel it?

That's such a tragedy when young lives are lost to the rages of war. I'm sorry for your country's loss.

Love to you and to all those brave soldiers that died.

Suthern One ~

I got chills up and down my body when I read "and those yet to fall". When will it ever stop? Battles have been waged since time immemmorial~ since the days of the Cave Man! It appears Man hasn't evolved as much as he think he has.

Love you,
Linda xo
