I'm sure you have seen her
staggering out of one tavern or another
in town
hanging on the arm of chronic criminals
at one time or another
splashing beer from go-cup
screeching with laughter reminiscing
of tires peeling out of a parking lot
heads turn to stare at the spectacle

if you paint a canvass
and call it history
she will be front and center
lipstick-smeared plastic smile
backed into a darkened alley
by some old groper
who mentally knows what he wants
even though the flesh is weak

I have had her
or maybe it was her sister
her smell stayed with me for days
every so often
I lift my hands to my face
as I stroll through WalMart
breathe in the bouquet of her

sometimes we don’t see her
for months
rumor has it she is in Paris
learning how better to
do it
some say she is in New Orleans
showing the Cajuns
how to do it better

her ramblin' ends
phones start to ringing
party-time again in the city
she loves to shock
yes, my phone rang
yes, I will answer her passion
how can I refuse those lips
that has snaked a tongue into my mouth
and made me feel
ten feet tall

That is an awesome stanza, JP.  Some serious reflecting goin on in this one.  An enjoyable poetic rambling... how could you refuse, indeed?

Wasn't exactly trying to slip it by you, just one of those things, I guess. Thanks.

Good stuff JP
I like the reality of this, even though some might think she doesn't exist.
She is in every town, big or small, and you have shown her effect on you, brought her out into the daylight in a poem..
...as I said, good stuff.

Oh, she exists, Ice, as we both know. I still think it might have been her sister that I . . . never mind.

Thank you for being here, man.
