The Tinted Glass Urn.

My hue is dark blue like the ocean,
Hiding my maker’s flaws.
My life is meaningless and empty
For the base which upheld me is shattered.
And who exactly wants a broken glass urn?

My life is built for death
But I’m a damaged good
So that even those near ending
Chose others to hug their ash.
I am the one yearning to be ash, and my contents mock my failure.

My body is built for being used
In memory of the wanted.
My life does not exist in your mind
For simplistic beauty goes by unnoticed.
And anyway, I am fragile, and who wants that?

I am the tinted glass urn-
I am the shattered glass urn-
I am the tinted glass urn
And my hue is as deep as the sea
My life is built for you,
And tragedy is destined for me.

Well, that's for sure the first time I hear the voice of a tinted glass urn ... it's fragile in comparison to a rock, no doubt, but then fragility is rather diffused down here I would say.

Damaged objects have their charm, they have their story to tell, you see. And I enjoyed yours.

This really made me stop and think... hearts and their owners can shatter as easily as tinted glass... and all may need to face refiner's fire before being whole again. But completeness is possible... and their beauty shines through. *S*

This is a whole new perspective on urns.
I do understand the connection in your poem,
and it is a sad thing to be, “The Tinted Glass Urn.”

Enjoyed
