she loves me
she doesn't give a fig
she loves me
especially when she thaws
she liked to pick the daisies
repeating the well-worn phrase
until one day she stopped
looked at me and said
who are you and why are you licking my neck
it took me about fifteen more minutes
before I could answer her
by then she had forgotten what she'd asked

I can see how that would be distracting...
It's hard to take a lickin' and keep on pickin' (Ha!)

There are things that tend to make us forgot we are anywhere except the special place that things like neck licking can send us. Thanks for being here, Lori.
