Tonight there's a longing as I gaze upon the stars
All the wonders of heaven that reach us from afar
Northern lights seldom seen for a short time remain
While the warm breeze sighs at the fall of gentle rain

The silver streaks of raindrops are reminders
As they fall on the face of a hollow man
Remembering when they fell on both of us
When we walked in storms holding hands

The dark clouds would gather
And lightning would flash so bright
Then the cracking sound in the distance
Our whole world would become void of light

We opened the door to the splendor of heaven
And held each other in a warm embrace
While candles flickered on yonder tables
We drink with lust from each kiss we taste

Moments in time fleeting, drifting from minds embrace
Bound by these feelings the shackles unable to shake
And my soul cries as if trapped in some dismal abyss
My lips tremble recalling the warm breath of your kiss

I like the pensive mood of remembering you enhance with your change in rhyme schemes! *S* This is lovely!

Indeed, all storms pass... even the storms of passion, it seems.

Enjoyable read.  Take pleasure in those memories.

I, as many people, can certainly relate to this, Paul.

but its echo lasts a great deal longer.--Oliver Wendell Holmes ~*~
