Nitty Gritty

To withdraw from Bible teaching
when you hear His chosen preaching;
is the crime of people lost,
that know the way.

Just don't think to get to Heaven
you can throw a lucky seven;
cause on judgement day,
the truth will have it's say.

Tho you just can't seem to buy it
and to scared of death to try it;
here and now's the time and place,
to lose the devil.

It's not what you must fear
that brings the Lord so near;
It's truth to tell,
if you are on the level.

The choice that God has given
to this world of fancy livin,
is a life to live again,
in time to come.

Jesus loved and helped the others,
but some people have their druthers
and the race they do not try,
can not be won.

So put down your liquor drinking,
Yes, it has your breath a stinking
and enjoy no more your thrill,
of nasty habits.

All your rolling in the clover
and your fancy body odor,
is offending to the name
of nature's rabbits

No ones perfect you will say,
as the devil has his day;
many tried and many failed,
or so I'm told.

You can quit your Bible pounding
for the devils you are drowning;
are the ones you always get,
when you are old.

But the eyes were made for seeing
and to see the devil fleeing;
is a joy for all the righteous
and the true.

If it's on your toes I'm trodding
it's the truth that needs a prodding;
for this message, it was written
just for you.
