            longings

I miss you in  Springtime
with the gentle sunshine
on the first lovely blossoms
of a renewing world.

I miss you in Summer
with the fullest expression
of life’s infinite diversity
  and grand design.

I miss you in  Autumn
with the pensive mists
and strongest sense
of transience, loss
and inevitable change.

but, I miss you most  in  Winter
(the season you so dearly love)
with the first silent, white-velvet
mantle of new fallen snow
that veils even the very saddest
and worst of mens many mistakes.

Such a reflective poem, the missing is sadly beautiful.

I agree with Blues, it is sadly beautiful in spirit, as well as picturesque.

A haunting feeling of loneliness does not dim the beauty of this lovely offering, Bruce.

This is exquisite, Bruce.  I believe she is with you in the ether always.

Simply beautiful. The last verse of all is the most heart warming.

I love the crescendo of your longing, dear Bruce, that culminates in Winter and I do know the feeling too.

A superb write I can relate to.
