Veiled Affection

Which words must I labor through
in surrendering my heart to you?

Which path should I desire?

Words to invert,
or words giving rise to song
and cheerful verse?

A melody of weeping strings and voice,
or an opus of woodwinds and flute,
allegro and terse?

This anxious love
hidden in my heart,
a caged and pacing tiger,
stalking for freedom…

If it must be released,
It must be now
devoid of youth and fervor,
and I question –
would it find reflective patient
understanding; a replica in kind?

Or would reality be crude and cruel
and faithful only
to a past of lost time?

Would it be a crime?

Oh, this foolish, foolish
hidden love of mine…

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself.
Maranatha!

A cry for release even as the dangers seem to be everywhere. Will the tiger be happy out of his cage. Unlock the cage door. Let him out to find his own way.

it would be a crime not to let it be known my friend.. affection was not meant to be caged up in a.. pen

type those words and throw them in the wind.. sometimes they come back a little worse for wear.. but then at least you don't have to sleep on a mattress stuffed with ifs, ands, or buts..

okay, maybe some butts..

this one stuck me right in the heart..

.. nice aim

I love this, JL!! And more... I understand it. *S* But the only way we know is to take the chance... for time doesn't get any kinder... and to never try is to fail for sure. *S* Beautiful write... Good luck! *S*
