For You

I’m trying to figure out
what to do this day
maybe drive to the coast
and have some
french toast
or buy a bowl made of
bread
that’s as heavy
as lead
with a clam named
stew
drowning
in a pool,
of cream
and velvety
soft skin,
dreams.

The sky is still
wet
her skin is
brunette
her eyes are in
mourning
through all of
the storming
she must
have had
a really good
knight
along with her
ex
and all of her
sight
so I better bring an
umbrella
for me and
Rozella
and walk around
on the ground
like a four legged
mushroom
who was recently
crowned.

Rhyming can be,
kind a fun
like holding hands
and cherry gum
but sometimes
I just need
to be
like my words
alive
and free

So now I’m done
just being
silly
I think I’ll go chomp
on a
chile

And get the heat
I’m gonna
need
to finish this poem
for you to
read

Sometimes I feel like I’m in a jungle
my pen as a machete hacking down words
that get in my way,
wiping them away from my face
across the wetness of my mouth
choking on reinvention of emotion
as I trip on petrified breaths
poking up from the ground
gasping out secrets of gravel
and gasp.

I wish I could take your hand
and guide you upstairs to the
bedroom of my mind
I would lay you back softly
on the pillow of my brain
and we could lay under blankets
of feelings and whispers of words
keeping us warm and bundled
tight
whils’t visions of sugar puns
dance through our, tights.

I mean night.

Sometimes the words
that use me
to talk for them
are merely fears
with a few clothes on,
or sometimes their love
as naked as
your want
making riddles out of reason
and yes’s
out of no’s.

I was born a junkie
an addict of attention
sitting in a wisecrack house
waiting for my fix
of your stimulant
as I push my needle
into your skin
and pump my elixir
through the mouth of my
syringe
into your stream
of red wine
and screams

Oh how I hate writing.

Oh how painful it is to keep
burrowing into one’s flesh
until you hit
an aquifer of silence
oozing to the surface
like a scarlet vine
twisting out of your chest
as it throbs down your arm
its tendrils wrapping themselves
around your fingers
moving them
against their will
as they walk through
the night
and up through your cellar doors
lapping up and atop
of your garden’s floret

A word of advice.

If you don’t want to hurt,
don’t become a writer.

If you don’t want to suffer,
don’t fall
in love.

And, If you don’t
want to die
each day
of your life,
don’t be a poet
who can’t stop writing,
about love.

Actually, I don’t even
really write.

There are so many poems
hanging in the air in pink clouds
above your heads at night

I just pluck them from your dreams
and copy them,
as my own.

I want you
to live with me the poetry that
cannot be written,
only felt and
tasted.

Paint your poem
on me
with the brush of your
eyelashes
as you gloss my smile
with writhe
and haunch

Let your skin
be my paper
as I write the words with my lips
as my tongue darts and
dips into your coral inkwell
and signs my name above the entrance
of your door
in bold silk cursive
your doorbell aflutter
reverberating
within the tightness
of your hallways.

Lets make love
on the keyboard
and spell
our own verse
with curved fingers
for question marks
and orgasms for exclamation
points!!

As you’ve known from you’re A
to my BC
your fit has always been,
just my type.

Use my manhood
as your marble
and sculpt the statue
most befitting
of your pedestal,
with your watery gouge and
shivering mould
as I chisel out my own
piece of
art
my pestle in your mortar
grinding our favorite blend of
naughty and spice
and nothing ever,
that’s nice.

Except everything,
that is you.

Someone once asked me
if I could make them
a poet,
I told them sorry
they are not made,
they are
born.

Just like our
rebirth
when we
first tasted
each other’s
thoughts
and want.

If you think all the poems
you have read so far
have been good
you should see the ones
that have been waiting
since the beginning of time
to be written,
just for you.

What you do with words is like a forbidden treat...Parts feel so intimate like they are from a stolen love letter. Hot stuff from a humorous beginning

What you can do with simple words, mix and blend and wow.
You are truly gifted, Richy.
Always surprised with your work and never disappointed in the reading.

Goodness gracious, dear Richy! You are on a roll and I do enjoy skipping over your word visions and hills of delight made of unrefrained emotions!

Reading you makes for an energizing drink in the morning!

And all your "if you ... don't ..." alerts must be absolutely ignored of course

I like that first set of rhyming words, and all that followed.
You are so wonderfully creative, and I always come away feeling that you put your  heart into every word.

You're such a fine poet you know!!  yanno? xoxo

If you don’t want to hurt,

There are so many lines I could copy... but these? *S* Right to the heart. *S*

the rhyme is sublime for a time

but yes it can limit that eternal pouring
of you on the page and we wouldn't want to
keep all that passion coralled in rhyme time

your opening lending itself to the singsong
then your breaking free of it is all part
of  your reader's grand journey along with you.
