It is in the face of Agony
That I run into the arms of Apathy
An embrace so cold
But at least it’s one that holds

I want nothing now
Give me not food, nor rest, nor Love
Rather, let me watch from above (or below, as the case may be)
As the world’s events unfold

It used to be
I’d rather hurt than feel nothing at all
Now, I’m not so sure
Clothed in Numbness…I feel no pain

Then there is Bitterness
With whom I am also familiar
The lover to whom I go
When, for a change, I wish to feel

It is so much easier to be bitter
Why should I accept my pain with joy?
I won’t.
But rather, the darkest corners of my mind I’ll annoy

So sorry for your pain, Cierra. I think you have the right to feel however you choose.

I can so relate to that line... however unhealthy that makes me/us.

I know it was dark but I much enjopyed the read.
