Got the modem / Seems to be working / Fingers crossed

Wednesday morning
October 5th
in the morning early
just walked my mutt
having a cuppa joe
checking out who loved me
enough to send me an email
when . . . whoops
everything went lights out
computer screen
gone
what the hell I said aloud
Zoe cringed in the corner
quaking at my obscenity
and the wrath which was sure to come
no
I didn't panic
it's just a minor blip
I said to myself, heart stuck in my throat
I tried to reboot the damn thing
didn't work
nuttin' worked
suddenly my eyes were drawn to the modem
ah ha!
the modem had no little green lights
THE MODEM WAS BROKE
not to fear
I remember someone telling me
unplug the modem for ten seconds
plug it back up
didn’t work
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
on the phone to AT&T
they'll send me a modem
almost three hours later
after being switched to this place
to that place
finally someone who will talk modem with me
yes, Mr. Bolton we will send you a modem
oh, it's warranty has expired
that'll be $75.00
I DON'T CARE SEND ME THE MODEM
as I write this on Thursday night
I am waiting on the modem
overnight shipping
supposed to get it tomorrow we shall see

Ouch...

Reminds me of when I dropped my monitor... and didn't have the cash to replace it. I think I permanently damaged my eyes trying to aquint past the frayed screen.

I feel for you, bro.

I have been on one of those calls with AT&T... and it wasn't a pleasant experience! LOL I sympathize and hope everything's fixed now ('cept the hole in your pocketbook *G*)

So far so good, suthern. They say all the green lights have to be lit up all the time, but mine isn't, they are blinking like crazy, but I'm online, so I'm not messing with them. Thanks, suthern.
