HOLD ME SONGS
27 September 2011

Today when I drew the curtains
at the end of a soft grey-green rain-day,
I smiled in deep and blessed content,
touching the mists and rain-wet leaves
you wore.  You turned to me
and took my hand and smiled,
softly, as can only you, tiptoeing
into the secret corners of my soul,
I reserve for you alone.

The joy you brought to me this perfect day,
wrapping your shimmer words around me
like the seven veils,
sang me your heart’s water music songs
in tones that fused my being with yours.

There is a magic to your words, owl.  I always feel like an eavesdropper when reading your work.  Truely a pleasure.

Thanks, Jerry.  Smiling.  Giggling at the "damn near"!

This is so lovely... I thought I'd copy my favorite lines, but it's every bit perfect!

Thank you, Ruth, for enjoying it so much.

Thank you, Charly.  At first, I didn't understand the "unmet", but yes, I suppose, in a way, it is so.

O the colors that run amok

lovely colorful poem

Sorry I missed your reply, Emma, earlier.  Life sometimes happens so very jam-packed, as it did this week - all positive, but nevertheless, jam-packed and exhausting!  Thank you very much.

Diana...

this brought a smile, so soft,
so tender are the dream words.

Lovely!

I am a rainbow dreamer, so with slightly crossed eyes, I read this.

The words are beautiful-profound, and they sparked the fire of my experiences. In that dream state, I saw Rita Dove speaking about your poem.

"In the nighttime kiss
the press of desert to liquid sky
   we learned to see star-wise
deeply into what is danced down at the    surface.

And there you were, veiled, leaning
"star-wise"

With your talent flowing onto paper by your pen.

Thank you, ice, for the really beautiful poetry (not just of Rita Dove's) and kindness and appreciation of your reply.

Wow! Rita Dove!  I had never heard of her, but with your mentioning her and that exquisite extract I googled her, and I am truly honoured to be mentioned in the same breath as her.  Smiles.
