The smell of rotten tobacco

I drove to the old gas station
My tank was running on empty
And I had a long haul ahead.

Drunken men lean against the wall

A taste of procrastination
Touches lips in a bitter rage
While nerves are soothed with red wine

You nailed it my friend...seen and heard many times - from the outside.

Well done.

And their long haul as well.
Maybe that could be a title, "Long Haul" and use your current title as part of V2.
I like little time vignettes like this.  Thanks for posting it.

Impressive.

And as Krawdad says ... to think that they too have their "long haul" ahead!

Love,
Margherita
