returning soldiers--
children running
into camouflaged arms

This came about as a result of a recently viewed heartwarming (and wrenching) youtube video sung by 8 year old gospel singer Rhema Marvanne ("A Note To God").   The response to the camouflaged soldier (mostly by the children) is what inspired this haiku. Please click and view the link below--and bring tissues!

Dear Al, OMG this is truly heartwrenching, and that's when they come back!! And so many don't! Yes it's high time to awaken to love.

Had to run for a hankie, I think this can't be watched and read without tears, so intense.

Thank you for this thought provoking offering!

Love and peace.
Margherita

ps I also googled the lyrics of the song, because I never understand well enough the texts when sung ... Beautiful words, yes.

"Love is the One who masters all things;
I am mastered totally by Love."

Wow! I just posted a response to YOUR response to my 3 tanka post. And wrote this:

If you get a chance: I just posted a haiku titled "returning soldiers" that includes a heartwarming and heartwrenching youtube vid that I would love for you to view--but bring some tissues! I'd lend you mine--but I'm all out--from viewing the video several times.

You beat me to it! Glad you saw. It's so heartwrencing but inspirational.

{hugs}

Al

We owe so much to those who serve... and those who wait for their return. Thank you for the verse and the video link.
