Daddy Goose, you silly goose!
Your name brings back a memory
You see...my Daddy had a goose
When I was maybe three

We named him Goosey Gander
After a nursery rhyme
(Which I can't remember
Not after all this time)

We lived on a farm back then
And Goosey was Daddy's buddy
When Mom went out, Goosey came in
Even if his feet were muddy

Daddy would sneeze and Goosey would honk
Then Daddy would give a cheer
Daddy sneezed, Goosey honked
Time for another drink of beer

Well Mom was none too happy
When she came in the door
To see Daddy sleeping at the kitchen table
And Goosey passed out on the floor

Oh what a mess they had made
There was beer cans and goose poop everywhere
Mom wanted Goosey sent to slaughter
But Daddy snuck him off somewhere

You see... Daddy couldn't kill his drinking buddy
So he gave Goosey to the old lady down the street
But this was not a happy ending for Daddy
The old lady came and thanked him for the good eat!

~*~ This was a true story! ~*~

Noooooooooooooooooooo, I shout, while stumping my feet!!

Delightful, despite the unexpected ending, dear Karen.

Love,

I understand it must have been very hard to come to terms with such a sad epilogue!

To love our animals and our pets also includes the cleaning up of their disasters and it may not always be funny.
