A Visit with You

What warm amber flickers within your heart this evening?
Mere thought for only a moment of this day?
Or
reflection of the depths of the deepest of seas?

What profound sentence would you prescribe for tomorrow?

One that sets the world alight with passion,
desiring adamantly with hunger to taste your every word?

Or
Will your shyness hinder your thoughts
into a concealed study?

Are you a morning dove cooing and praising the rising sun
blessing a new day of life and living?
Or
are you an eagle soaring high
above the snowy mountaintops,
surveying God’s gift to you?

Whatever your contemplation,
wherever you may go in your heart
and in your mind,
allow me a visit there too.

Go on –
Sing your song for the day.
Write your lyrics, and poetry.
But gratify and grant my curiosity –
invite me in to consider
your thoughts,
to visit with you…

Just for a moment of your time
it would be for me
a day of warm sunshine and affection.

A cherished day –
A visit with you…

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself.
Maranatha!

JL...this is a beautiful letter.
Thank you so much for sharing it!

Especially liked this:

Are you a morning dove cooing and praising the rising sun
blessing a new day of life and living?

Or
are you an eagle soaring high
above the snowy mountaintops,
surveying God’s gift to you?

What an interesting piece of writing, JL, and I admit I have never read a poem directed at the poets, writers, et al that would read it. That is a lovely thought. I used the word lovely instead of great or impressive, or any number of other words, because I believe we all have lovely thoughts from time to time and that it is not a gender thing.

Anyway! Congratulations on this. It is -- now I can say it -- impressive.

I almost highlighted the same section Sunshine did... how glorious it would be to not have to choose and be both. *S*

But these are lines that surely will make many a heart wish they were the recipient:

Whatever your contemplation,
wherever you may go in your heart
and in your mind,
allow me a visit there too.

Go on –
Sing your song for the day.
Write your lyrics, and poetry.
But gratify and grant my curiosity –
invite me in to consider
your thoughts,
to visit with you…

So very tender and incredibly beautiful!!

This is so very, very breathtakingly, quiver-beautiful and sensitive, JL.  Like all the other women reading this I am sure, I was tempted to answer the questions in a moment of fantasy . . .

I liked everything about this piece, my friend, but like Sunshine thought the dove and the eagle were really special.
