Freedom

Little bird
The wind blows due west again
Are you not afraid?

The up draft
You guide down across the lake
Your mother perched near

You are hitting chords of thought in me today, so on that note, please indulge me as I share an objective thought to what I perceive as a mere quibble of your message?

I don't think that a baby bird flies because the wind has changed.

I could look it up, but I'm pretty sure that some mother birds actually deliberately distance themselves (along with the baby's food) to encourage the baby to learn to fly.

I'm pretty sure I read that in ...OH. The Diversity of Life.

Again, I thank you.

Baby eagles practice flying in the up drafts.  The mother normally is about a block away watching and hunting. I am fortunate enough to live on a lake that they live around. The mother eagle though some distance away stays close, so that other eagles wont eat them.

There is only a few types of birds that fly like eagles do.  Very pretty and terrifying.

It was interesting watching the babies fly. Never left my mind. How much work it talks to achieve freedom.

Well now.

An eagle is like...the penultimate bird, yes?

However Benjamin Franklin argued eloquently...I'm glad he lost that argument.

good stuff, Juju.
