She lay his pictures on small cuts of wood
next to the small sink
across from her brothers tiny room

A small fireplace
a few steps from her
roasting in its fiery wood

Her eyes seem to leave for a second
as she began speaking of her brother
the one was just a secret lost between the hedges of the wooden door.

His eyes could rattle you
with their brown, stirring stare

Her blonde locks didn’t seem to wave as gracefully, anymore
Her eyes wore stories of pain
Bags underneath them

But her love was fearless
for his grave was merely a reminder

His small cabin room
hauntingly quiet
her tears never left
that cold winter day.

Yours just might be the last poem I read today, since my feelings are so acute and I am dangerous when I feel vulnerable...

?

I appreciated your thoughts very much.

I had such a brother, and his ashes are in a box in my livingroom. (An irony he'd appreciate.)

thank you...smile.

I kind of needed a safe place to be today, and I do believe you've led me there.

Serenity, I'm sorry about your brother.  I'm happy you felt comfort in reading the piece.  Hope you're well.

Cheers

JL,

There is grace in sadness.  It is apart of human life.  Thanks for reading

Cheers
