Nine Eleven

9-11-01:
Confusion, Disbelief, and Dismay:

Rumbling of engines explosions and fears,
alarms and sirens blast in their ears.
Some moving away with non-quenching stares,
rescuers run in and up, toward the tops of the stairs.

9-11-01:
Perplexity and Disarray:

Some said they saw pink dust,
bodies smashed demolished and crushed …
While others saw gray ghost mulling around,
becoming part of the rigid and tormented grounds.
Bodies floating out of windows like debris,
alone to their death they jumped, to be freed.
While their loved ones unmoving in unspeakable pain,
echoed - the world today is totally insane.

9-11-01:
Butchery and Irresolute:

What monsters this human man has become,
like beast feverishly focusing on what next can be done –
To destroy in the name of allah, and seek pleasure in their cause,
absolute distortion in their wicked heartless flaw…

Terrible events that evil spirit has ordained and leads:
Evil, veiled in peace and love, waits to destroy again and again.

Why Hell?
A place to collect and hold,
those butchers possessed by wicked souls.

Remember:
Flight 11 - Flight 175 (157 died)
Twin Towers (3000 died)

Flight 77 (65 died)
The Pentagon (125 died)

Flight 93 (45 died)
Open Field in Southwest Pennsylvania.

Ok, I knew before I opened this
that I would be left in tears.
Even today, the memories are as
fresh as if the smoke and dust
were whirling around us yet, still.

You did an excellent piece on what
is still hard to digest...

let alone fathom.

Thank you for treating it so well, JL

Thanks Sunshine!
We do need to remember the pain it caused, and how the hate of a few stupid people can caused such a hideous event.

Hearts break and tears flow, again and again. They will not be forgotten... not as long as those of us who watched in horror are still breathing... not as long as poets write reminders. Well done, JL.

Thank you, dear JL, for this intense reminder of a time when the world stood breathless in sheer terror.

It is heartwrenching. May we all awaken to Love.

Love and peace.

JL, I thought I had come back to reply to this, but I see I hadn't.  The first time I read this magnificent account and tribute, my tears gushed too fiercely and my heart was scrunched too small for me to reply.  This time I controlled the tears and my heart enough to reply.

We need to see things in their full horror, - and as superbly as you did, we need to understand that it is most decidedly not all Moslems who think and do as these monsters did, and we need to see the many, many layers of repercussions of such dastardly actions, and we need to remember the innocent who suffered, and we need to do everything in our power to spread love and not hate into every dark corner of the world.  You have done all of this, in this magnificently shattering poem.

Icebox:  Thank you.

Owl: I do appreciate your reply, deeply.  We need to keep, in our hearts, the people killed, hurt, and forever changed by this horrible event in our history.  I pray for the muslims tainted by what happened, but it was a decision made by the misleading teaching from their own faith.

What deep insight you have, JL, and what a compassionate analysis!  If only the misguided perpetrators and misterminds - for they can’t be called masterminds – had had the same understanding, none of this would ever have happened.  Oh, if only . . .
