Oh No
I’m in love
With peace

This affectionate silence
Resting on my skin

It’s like a woman you love
Coming into the room

Her hand
On your shoulder
Kissing your brow

You have nothing to offer
Being as you are

I have no need or desire
For your carnival

So please just leave
And close the door

I've read so many of your poems... but I think I can say unequivocally that this is my favorite. There's a lot to be said for contentment... even though I'm sure it looks like boredom to the young and unscarred.

I agree with Suthern. Contentment is a gift as time passes and life roughs us up a bit.
